Somewhere Between Searching and Finding
Where we are with things now:
We left our home country, Switzerland, three years ago. We travelled to various places and lived in different homes. We even welcomed a new family member: our daughter, who was born in September 2025.
We are now a full-time family of four, but we don't want to remain one. We long for our home, our own piece of land, our people. Since the birth of our daughter, our travels have continued, but our intention has clearly shifted. We are now searching for a place to call our home.

Reality Check
Our daughter just turned one, and with that came the realisation that we have had quite an intense year. And the reality is that we are tired. Our bodies and minds feel exhausted. We feel like we need a break from everything, somehow.
What we are up to now
So we knew that our search for a home had to be put on hold for a while. We simply didn't feel that we had the capacity to keep searching. So we decided to give ourselves a six-month pause in the south of Spain and simply live comfortably for a while.
Even though it feels hard to put our home search on hold for the next six months, we feel like it's the right thing to do. Especially because we need time to do our research. We need time to gather information and have conversations about which places might have potential for us.
We hear about great places and meet great people all over the world. And somehow, it feels like we could find what we are looking for almost anywhere. What are we looking for, you ask? Well, we are asking ourselves the same question. We still need to figure this out for ourselves, too. What exactly is it that we want? How do we want to live? We want to get specific, so that we can find what we are looking for — or perhaps let it find us.
Those six months will be dedicated to researching potential countries and regions more thoroughly. We are happy to take you along on this journey of research and share what we discover along the way.
Until now, we were quite sure that our home would be somewhere in Europe. But now, we are no longer so sure. Maybe Europe isn't the right place for us to establish our base after all. This, too, needs time and space — time to reflect and let our thoughts settle.
And all of this is happening while we take care of our two kids full-time, without anyone helping us through the days. This has pushed us to the limits of our capacity, and we feel the need to slow down even more. There is so little time, and we need to figure out what matters most right now.
Just Two 28-Year-Olds Figuring It Out

And at the same time, we have to remind ourselves that we're only 28. We have time. We don't have to figure it all out right now, and we don't want to get so caught up in searching for the life we want that we forget to live the one we already have. Because, honestly, we have a pretty damn good life.”
